Be anything you want to be with UJ. |
Once again the University of Johannesburg opens up its gate to students who want to be part of the family. This is an educational event taking place for two days on 11th and 12th May 2012, both days will be dedicated to learners accompanied by parents and guardians and to school groups.
The Open Days will take place across the University’s four campuses, which include Soweto Campus, the Doornfontein Campus, the Auckland Park Bunting Road Campus and the Auckland Park Kingsway Campus. On both days prospective learners will have the opportunity to explore the vast range of study options on offer at the various campuses. A bus shuttle service will be available to transport visitors between the campuses.
Prospective Grade 11 and 12 will be given information on their courses, registration, finance as well as Campus and residence tours will form part of the exciting education and career guidance experience. This is an opportunity for students to start planning for their career and future. Instead of finding one self in a field that does not interest you. To maintain a smooth communication flow between the audience and the institute the will be different stalls, this include Student Enrolment Centre (SEC), Art and Culture and UJ Sport. This will be the 7th Open day held by the institute. The event has always been a great success and does not disappoint.
From a Public Relations point of view this event is a good initiative to re-gain back the good image of the institute, prior to the incident that happened in the beginning of the year. All faculties and departments participate in the events, which features a wide range of activities.
This is indeed a good initiative, UJ is known within South Africa and across the borders of the country, it therefore has to organise events carefully to further attract learners and investors.
ReplyDeleteThis event is to show the target audience that UJ is an institute of values and morals, yet it is also capable of producing outstanding results.
DeleteThis is one of the best plartforms for us students who are already studying here at this varsity to show how much we care about those who want education by opening our arms and giving them every bit of encouragement we can possibly give.
ReplyDeleteyes Vincent, we are part of UJ, we are the UJ brand. It is important that we become examples of the institute. We must potray the image of the institute.
DeleteOPen days give secondary school(grade 12) a visit to see the different coarses that are available and the score APS that is required. i think UJ must not only do open days but also do social visit to schools.
ReplyDeleteI agree, social visits can help in educating students on their academic and career. UJ is Open to all people to get much information as possible.
Deleteyes open days are always the best times to show off our beloved campuses and watch nervous high school students thinking about their future, it just takes you back to that time you were in high school trying to make that decision
ReplyDeleteI agree, as a senior one should be an example of a good brand of UJ.
DeleteI am really looking forward to it as I have never been to any of the UJ open days before and I think this is a good strategy of meeting the University's objectives. UJ is a good brand and its a good thing that they are making this to take place for two consecutive days and allowing different individual groups to attend, this will help to reduce chaos as we all know that Uj is the most favoured university by prospective students
ReplyDeleteYes indeed. UJ is one of the top universities in South Africa. The Open day is ment to reduce chaos, provide information and make it the best experience to all those who come on the big day.
Deleteuj open day will not only generate more students to come study here but will give the outsiders to see what we have to offer. uj is the palce to be.
ReplyDeleteIf only more secondary schools made it compulsory to send their matriculates to university open days it would make it easier for most matriculates who do not know what to do.
DeleteThat is a great idea.Every high school should make an effort to make a trip to experience life in University. This will play a role in assisting matriculates with their career choice.
DeleteThat is one of the institutes objectives, to communicate with its target audience. The Open day is one of the ways to informing the students.
DeleteOpen days are a good way of encouraging students to not drop out of learning after high school. I would encourage every high school in Gauteng to bring its students to this event
ReplyDeleteYes, Open days give light to every students who would like to continue with their career and shape thei future.
DeleteI hope that Uj has got a much structured plan to allievate any problems that might occur in terms of the large crowds wanting to gain access into the institution.
ReplyDeletehopefully uj have structures in place to prevent what happened last year as we dont want history to repeat itself
