The school of disrepute on skin colour. |
Racist Institution
The month of March is known as the Human Rights month.Whereby all South African embrace their human dignity as well as their rights. The question in mind is, how can we call our selves brothers and sisters while racism practise still takes place? Our human rights are being violated in learning places. What are we learning?
Students go to school to be educated, this includes academically and life skills such as respect.Institutes are suppose to be a place of learning, fun and self growth.Where no colour of our skin can separate human race. A racist incident took place at in Ferrum high school in New Castle, Kwa-Zulu Natal where two 11th Grade student were victims of racism. The was an initiation for all new members which took place in the netball team. The two black students had been tricked while the other white students were told not to drink the baby food allegedly mixed with saliva, during the ceremony organised by some of their schoolmates. The organiser mixed the purity baby food in a jar in front of other learners, while cursing. The incident has led to war between black and white students.
This brings learning institution into disrepute. As the human dignity right is being violated. Such things in provinces like Kwa-Zulu Natal tend to be swept under the carpet.I am personally happy that this has brought attention to the Provincial Minister, as well as the Minister of Higher Education, Mr Blade Nzimande.
Racism is something that is underground dominant in South africa,in those instances such this issue is too big in such a way that it will create boundries, which is not good, what is best is to unity, the name DEMOCRACY is for us to make it work in a proper way, our grand grand parents knowns racist than us.
ReplyDeleteToday we are a free generation, yet we still experience racism in school.I mean institutes are a place of unity and learning. The school is causing disrepute amoung black and white students. We should practice democracy and not racism.
